Happy 3 month Birthday Wyatt!

You are 3 months old today! Happy Birthday little man. You have come so far, and have fought incredibly hard in this world that I am going to give you a present that lasts a lifetime: an age widget that keeps on ticking! This is your Aunt Danielle. I thought I'd give your mom a blog break today and do the honors myself.

Ever since you were born I have been praying and rooting for you from afar. I have continuously admired your mother's unwavering support, selfless love and genuine certainty of your 100 percent recovery.

Not until two weeks ago when I met you for the first time, did I understand why. I walked into your room alone, painfully watched your silent cries as the nurse prodded your ankle with a needle, then curled you in my arms. At that moment, I took my first look at someone and fell in love. That someone was you.

You are not the helpless baby that I sympathized for from across the world. While rocking you, in your blue eyes I witnessed a thirst for life, in your temperament I saw an inexplicable calmness.

Wyatt, you should not be pitied, rather, you should be praised. What I saw in you, few people that have lived a life time possess: tolerance for the world and patience for time.

You are not just going through a life-threatening illness, you are going through it with grace.

I pray for you today on your third month birthday that the only traces of this sickness that will stay with you in the future is the serenity that you possess now, and of course, this blog. ;)

a kiss, a hug and abounding love, - aunt danielle

I now realize where Wyatt gets all of his strength and determination. (Maybe I am a little slow). Gina and Benji are two of the strongest, positive and motivational parents that I know! I read this blog and realize that my life is not as complicated as I think. Glad to hear Chloe is feeling better and that Wyatt is in the step down.

Still praying -
Chuck, Sue and Megan

Danielle,
Your message to Wyatt is absolutely beautiful (I'm sitting here crying!). Wyatt is lucky to have an aunt like you!

I'm so thrilled to hear that Chloe is starting to feel better and that Wyatt is getting weaned from the O2. That's so sweet that Heather spent her lunch break with him and could give him comfort like that. What a blessing.

Our prayers and thoughts continue to be with you guys. Oh yeah .... HAPPY 3 MONTH BIRTHDAY WYATT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Love
Vic, James & Jack

Danielle,

What a surprise when I clicked on Wyatt's blog today. You made me cry and Wyatt is sooo lucky to have an aunt like you. Benji is with Wyatt today, so I did not get to see him and this was a great pick me up! Wyatt gets his swallow study tomorrow. Everyone keep your fingers crossed.

Love,
your sis, Gina

awww...thanks for the positive comments. To tell you the truth, I cried too when I wrote it. Gina, when you told us about Chloe being a fussy patient when she was being poked at, I thought, "of course, what a normal reaction for any small child." But as far as Wyatt goes, he doesn't he even know that that's a normal reaction.

As for my birthday present. Gina - I think you can cut and paste that ticker where ever you please.

Do you like your new heading??

Happy Birthday, Wyatt! I can't believe you are 3 months old already. I remember when you're mommy announced she was pregnant with you and followed her pregnancy. I read your blog several times a week and pray for you daily. You are a special boy with a wonderful family. Get well soon and come home to Wesmtminster so you can meet my little Emma who is 3 1/2 weeks old. I can't wait to meet you!

Wyatt, you have taught us all a lesson in what it means to be strong and brave. So many people love you, but none more than your family. I know life is tough for you right now, but you are one lucky little boy to have such a wonderful family. Happy 3 month B-day, little guy!

Love,
Pam
