I am a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) baby. My diaphragm developed with a hole in it and my organs were misplaced in my chest cavity. The organs pushed on my lungs, causing one lung to be very small. I was born on October 9, 2007 at Johns Hopkins. Now it is three years later: I am saying a bunch of words, I still receive foods through a g-tube and am on oxygen while I sleep. I can't walk yet, but believe I can out scoot anyone! Here is the story of my amazing and patient recovery.

Late Night
Last night I did not get home until after midnight because Wyatt was fussy and did not want to calm down. His respiratory rate alarm was beeping and he just didn't seem happy. We suctioned him, weighed him, changed his diaper and he finally settled down so then I left. Otherwise he was happy most of the day and was wide awake for us. I think he was just really tired. On Saturday, we re-taped his oxygen tubing and ng tube and bathed him. His weight is up to 12lb 2oz and he is already for his surgery on Tuesday. It's going to be a long Tuesday... we will have to leave our house at 4am!!! I guess that's why it is called super Tuesday, in honor of Wyatt... right? Who cares about those presidental canadiates....Wyatt is the super one!! Off to the hospital now... Wyatt is sad because he doesnt' have a TV in his room to watch the Super Bowl today. I think he'll get over it.
