I am a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) baby. My diaphragm developed with a hole in it and my organs were misplaced in my chest cavity. The organs pushed on my lungs, causing one lung to be very small. I was born on October 9, 2007 at Johns Hopkins. Now it is three years later: I am saying a bunch of words, I still receive foods through a g-tube and am on oxygen while I sleep. I can't walk yet, but believe I can out scoot anyone! Here is the story of my amazing and patient recovery.

Wyatt's in Surgery
We arrived at Mt. Wash about 5am when the ambulance was suppose to show up. It didn't show up until 6:45am for his 7:30am surgery. (We were suppose to be there at 6am). I don't usually get mad and I think I'm a calm and patient person, but I called the ambulance company with not the nicest words to say:))) The ambulance came shortly after my phone call and we were on our way! Wyatt is currently in surgery. This is his fourth surgery, but it's the first time I got to be in the operating room with him as he fell asleep. Wyatt was wide awake and enjoyed looking around the operating room. The bed that he was on was puffy and warm and Wyatt stretched out his arms and was super relaxed!! It was funny! The anesthesiologist joked saying that Wyatt is fighting the drugs to fall asleep. He always does. He is now in surgery and we are in the waiting room. It will take about 3 hours. Thank you for everything.
