We thought today would be a nice and relaxing Saturday... it all started when Chloe and I went to Lowes to buy vegetables for our garden. We were planning on planting our vegetable garden today, but Wyatt wanted to do something different! Wyatt seems to be the boss, so we followed him all the way to the Pediatric ER at Hopkins.
On Wednesday I noticed that his central line dressing was wet inside and it looked the line was oozing yellowish stuff, so I changed the dressing since the infusion nurse was not coming until Saturday. Today, the nurse noticed more ooze and we she pressed on it, more came out and the site around the line was red. A stitch fell out too. So I decided to call the pediatric surgeon on call and he gave us a choice to come in today or wait until our appointment on Tuesday. I really wanted to wait until Tuesday, but I would not know what I would do with myself if the line got infected from now until Tuesday. So I took Wyatt (all by myself, for the first time) to the ER at Hopkins. The ER was super slow, so we did not have to wait long. We got there around 3pm and left at 7pm. The central line dressing was removed and we even got a chest x-ray so we do not have to get one on Tuesday!!! The ER was getting busy, so the doctor did not give me the results of the x-ray. According to the nurse, it's the same as the one two weeks ago??? I am glad I have an appointment with Dr. Abudallah on Tuesday so I can find out more about the x-ray. Overall, the day wasn't too bad. I got to spend one-on-one time with Wyatt today and I was so worried about the central line and now it's out!!! That line was our insurance policy in case he had to return to the hospital. Please pray for no more hospitalizations!!!
On a happy note, Baby Ned went home today!!!! He has been in the hospital since Jan., so we are thrilled for him. Congratulations baby Ned!!
Also, another baby was born with CDH in our town and we discovered it through by Wyatt's article. Baby Grace was born 6 month's ago at our local hospital and was repaired. She is doing great! Her mom e-mailed me because she read about Wyatt in the paper. It's a small world:))

Wyatt...Sunday is supposed to be the day to rest. I'm glad you got the central line dressing changed and even better - you got rid of the line! We're rooting for you that you continue to heal and do well and never EVER need that line again. I hope to see you soon!
