I am a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) baby. My diaphragm developed with a hole in it and my organs were misplaced in my chest cavity. The organs pushed on my lungs, causing one lung to be very small. I was born on October 9, 2007 at Johns Hopkins. Now it is three years later: I am saying a bunch of words, I still receive foods through a g-tube and am on oxygen while I sleep. I can't walk yet, but believe I can out scoot anyone! Here is the story of my amazing and patient recovery.

Home Sweet Home
We arrived home around 2pm today. It was one of the smoothest discharges we had. Wyatt was so happy to come home and see Chloe. Chloe was sleeping and woke up early from her nap because she heard Wyatt. Wyatt only slept about 30 minutes today and was so hyper before finally going to sleep. I think he was just super excited to be home. Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers. Keep your fingers crossed for a healthy winter:)) We have two therapy sessions this week and an appointment with the ENT doctor on Thursday. Next week we have a syngis shot appt., the ECMO Christmas Party, appt. with Dr. Carson and a meeting for a surprise that Wyatt's friend Jack's Mom is organizing:)) I think we will be at Hopkins almost every third day!

Good to hear you are home :)
I am so glad to know all is well...Wyatt sure seems to have a record of the "holiday blues" ?? Gina, hope you can get caught up on YOUR rest, especially post-flu, and that everyone stays well for the next holiday!
