Wyatt successfully got his halo installed today. Seven screws installed in his skull and 11 lbs. of weights attached to the pulley system with about a one-pound weight added each day until June 13th. Pain management is keeping him comfortable. We waited most of the day in recovery until a room came available on the adolescent floor at 5pm. He ordered his lunch at noon, and it arrived at 4pm. Other than those two hiccups, the pulley system is already working stretching out his spine so that his spinal fusion surgery on June 13th can be safe and effective. Wyatt was in great spirits and even walked. Tomorrow, he will start PT. If you know Wyatt, he will welcome an email or text message.
