I am a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) baby. My diaphragm developed with a hole in it and my organs were misplaced in my chest cavity. The organs pushed on my lungs, causing one lung to be very small. I was born on October 9, 2007 at Johns Hopkins. Now it is three years later: I am saying a bunch of words, I still receive foods through a g-tube and am on oxygen while I sleep. I can't walk yet, but believe I can out scoot anyone! Here is the story of my amazing and patient recovery.

Ahhhh!!!!
I am so excited, but am freaking out at the same time!!! Benji and I are frantically getting everything together!! We just picked up the crib from our friends (thanks Amy and Jobe!!) and Benji is putting it together now. My parents are bringing over the mattress and dresser tomorrow night and will be babysitting Chloe while we take a CPR class tomorrow night. I think we are going to set Wyatt up in the family room for now since we will have the IV pole, feeding pump, and oxygen tank. The kitchen, bathroom, and frig will be close by for the night nurse too. Benji is bringing the car seat tomorrow morning to Mt.Wash for Wyatt to take his car seat test. We "interviewed" home nurses today and set up the first pediatrician appointment for Wyatt. We are still waiting to hear from the equipment company. We also have to learn about g-tube care. I also purchased a baby scale today to keep track of Wyatt's weight. He still needs your prayers. He is spitting up a lot (even though he gained 20 grams tonight) and I know it makes him a little uncomfortable. It was the first time one of us was not with Wyatt today, because we are so busy getting ready and both of us have to work too!! A big thank you to my friends Pam and Paula for spending time with him today. I heard he had a lot of fun in the playroom. I guess I was putting off getting ready for him to come home, because everything was unknown... we are just so happy and grateful.
