I am a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) baby. My diaphragm developed with a hole in it and my organs were misplaced in my chest cavity. The organs pushed on my lungs, causing one lung to be very small. I was born on October 9, 2007 at Johns Hopkins. Now it is three years later: I am saying a bunch of words, I still receive foods through a g-tube and am on oxygen while I sleep. I can't walk yet, but believe I can out scoot anyone! Here is the story of my amazing and patient recovery.

The night before Wyatt comes home
Tonight we passed our CPR/Choking class and learned how to take care of Wyatt's Peg tube. Tomorrow we are leaving for the hospital around 9am and will be meeting with the equipment company to learn about oxygen and feeding pumps and then will be taking them with us. When we get home, a rep from the company will deliver the big oxygen tank and a rep from the nursing agency will come by for us to sign some papers. Then at 10pm, our shift nurse, Linda will be in our house with Wyatt for 8 hours. Whew! It's going to be a busy day!! Friday and all weekend, I plan on doing nothing but spend time with my family. I have been waiting a long time for this day to come. Wyatt is doing terrific! Besides spitting up, he did gain weight tonight and he is stating in the high 90's without oxygen during waking hours. What am I going to do at home without an Oxygen monitor???? I guess I will just have to rely on my mom instincts. Thank you for all your support and stay tuned for some Chloe and Wyatt pics!
