Happy 9 Month Birthday Wyatt!

Wyatt turned 9 months old today and he celebrated by going to see his surgeon today! Yesterday our nurse Kathy and I took Wyatt to Hopkins for a chest x-ray. When we arrived they said we are scheduled for an ultrasound and go down the hall... well we went down the hall and they said we were scheduled for a chest x-ray!!!! So they had to call the surgeon to confirm and we were in fact scheduled for a chest x-ray!! Then our order sheet was lost and finally found. We are so happy we Hopkins... but sometimes it's like a small city and you can get lost in the shuffle. The x-ray took a few minutes and we were on our way home a couple of hours after we arrived:)))

It was all worth it... because when we went to our surgical consult today, Dr. A read the x-ray and said "I think a lot of people have been praying because the results say that the intestines are no longer in his chest!!" I said WHAT!!!! The other surgeon Dr. C said that it is very rare that it would go back down. We would have to get a cat scan or MRI to confirm but our surgeon is remaining to be an optimist and is trying to avoid surgery for now. The left lung does have a lot of fluid and is slightly collapsed. Wyatt did catch a cold that I have.

So what explains his times when he get VERY uncomfortable??? It may be a malrotation of his intestines which in time will fix itself. Wyatt just has to grow. Normally that condition is repaired through surgery, but for CDH patients it's common.

So a little miracle occurred today and I'm happy... no surgery in the near future and another x-ray and appointment in 3 months. There is a God:)) Thank you.

Great news! He has a super guardian angel on his side (that listens to lots of prayers)!! We are really glad it was a positive visit. Thanks for posting the news, we were wondering how things would turn out today. We'll pray that things stay put, and he no longer has the periods of pain.

Chuck, Sue and Megan
