I didn’t think he needed a shunt anymore, all his brain scans are normal. When I discussed this with the neurosurgeon, she shared that since it was placed when he was an infant, your brain relies on it. It’s like part of this brain. Fascinating to me.
What is also fascinating is how incredible these surgeons are. They are so devoted to their profession. Every morning, around 6 am- Dr. Sponceller from Ortho and Dr. Robinson from Neurosurg visit Wyatt. It’s 7pm now and I have seen both come in the surgery waiting room and Dr. Robinson has another surgery after Wyatt this evening. It’s a gift to see that dedication. Another observation during my hours of sitting and waiting is the diversity of people- from different socioeconomic levels, different parts of the world and different religions all coming together for the same purpose- quality healthcare. It warms my heart ❤️
