I am a Congenital Diaphragmatic Hernia (CDH) baby. My diaphragm developed with a hole in it and my organs were misplaced in my chest cavity. The organs pushed on my lungs, causing one lung to be very small. I was born on October 9, 2007 at Johns Hopkins. Now it is three years later: I am saying a bunch of words, I still receive foods through a g-tube and am on oxygen while I sleep. I can't walk yet, but believe I can out scoot anyone! Here is the story of my amazing and patient recovery.

Adenovirus
Just found- Wyatt has Adenovirus...It's good news because it's a basic respiratory virus that just has to run it's course. Many kids get it, but because Wyatt has chronic lung disease it is worse for him. So he is still getting admitted so they can watch him. He is still soundly sleeping and I am still sitting here. Not for long, when we move to the 6th floor Wyatt will get examined all over again. He is such a trooper:))

Wyatt is not the only trooper, Gina...You are the "trooper mom"....I hope you can rest easier now ,knowing exactly what the problem has been....sending prayers and strength to you and Wyatt....

So the unknown is known now.. that's actually a good thing! I have a medical term question... Wyatt has chronic lung disease? What does this mean? Doesn't disease mean something is attacking something? Does he just have a chronic lung condition, meaning his lungs aren't getting any bigger and have fluid in it? please clarify ...
